Aktuel forskning

I am Associate Professor in Health Services Research and Research Group Leader at the Department of Public Health & Center for Healthy Aging, Faculty of Health and Medical Sciences at University of Copenhagen, Denmark.

I perform interdisciplinary and multi-methods health services research with a focus on citizen-centric healthcare provision in the context of aging and migration. My research encompasses qualitative, quantitative and multi-methods studies with different study designs, often with user/patient engagement embedded. This includes a number of intervention studies exploring citizen-centric innovations, thus informing the evidence-base for future healthcare provision. Projects are often co-created with key societal partners to enhance relevance, transferability and ultimately societal impact of research.

My background is in Public Health Sciences, and I completed my PhD in multi-methods Health Services Research from University of Copenhagen in 2011. My competencies are within a range of research methods including systematic reviews, register-based studies, surveys, clinical audits and qualitative methods, and more generally multi-methods studies.

I hold an Honorary Research Fellowship at the Usher Institute of Population Health Sciences and Informatics, University of Edinburgh, Scotland, and I was key in the initiation of the academic public health program in Qatar. I hold a number of grants, and I am engaged in assessment of grant applications and academic work nationally and internationally, e.g. as member of the Research Committee under the Danish Heart Foundation, Horizon2020, ERC, and the COST Programme. In addition to reviewer functions for various journals, I am Associate Editor for the BMC Health Services Research journal. I serve as an advisor for amongst others Danish municipalities and WHO Europe, and I am a member of the Daily Leader Board in Research Center for Integrated Rehabilitation for Cancer Patients (CIRE).
